Live Traffic View
A real-time feed of every page view, the moment it happens.
The moment you hit “send” on a newsletter or post a link on social media, one question matters: is anyone clicking? Live Traffic View answers it while it is happening. It is a real-time feed of individual page views on your site — each new visit slides in the moment it occurs, so a launch day feels less like waiting and more like watching.
Each entry in the feed shows the page visited, the referrer it came from, the visitor’s location, their device type, and their friendly visitor name (like “Dashing Falcon”). That combination tells a small story: “someone in Austin, on a phone, came from Instagram and landed on the summer-sale page.” String a few of those together and you know within minutes whether a promotion is landing.
Live Traffic View is also the fastest way to confirm your tracking snippet is installed correctly: open your own site in another tab, and your visit appears in the feed within a few seconds.
How it works
Your site’s tracking snippet reports each page view as it happens, and the Live page streams those events straight into the feed — no refresh needed. Names in the feed are generated from an anonymous hash, so no personal data is collected or shown; click a name to open that visitor’s full session history.
Step by step
- 1
Open the Live page
In your site’s dashboard, choose Live from the sidebar. The feed starts streaming immediately, newest visits at the top, alongside a count of visitors active right now.
- 2
Watch a campaign land in real time
Send your newsletter or publish your post, then keep the Live page open. Within minutes you will see entries arrive with that referrer attached — instant confirmation the link works and people are clicking.
- 3
Click a visitor name to follow their path
Any name in the feed opens that visitor’s session history: every page viewed, in order, with time on page and scroll depth. It turns a single row in a feed into an understandable journey.
- 4
Put it on a big screen for launch day
The TV Mode button on the Live page switches to a large-format display made for a wall-mounted TV — great for keeping the whole team watching a launch together.
Tips from the den
- ◆Keep Live Traffic View open for the first hour after any announcement — the immediate pattern (which pages, which sources) tells you whether to boost the post or fix the landing page.
- ◆Use the feed right after installing the snippet: your own visit appearing is the simplest possible “it works” check.
- ◆If entries show visitors landing on a page you did not expect, check where your shared links actually point — the feed catches wrong links faster than any report.

Common questions
Does Live Traffic View show personal information about visitors?
No. Each entry shows the page, referrer, approximate location, device type, and a friendly generated name. No names, emails, or other personal details are ever collected, and raw IP addresses are never stored.
How is Live Traffic View different from the Real-Time Dashboard?
The dashboard summarizes your traffic — totals, charts, and rankings. Live Traffic View shows the individual visits behind those numbers, one by one, as they happen. Use the feed for “what is happening right now” and the dashboard for “how did the week go”.
Do I need to refresh the page to see new visits?
No — new page views stream into the feed automatically within seconds of happening.
