Badges & Records

Achievements your website actually earned — backed by measured numbers, never handed out for showing up.

Running a website mostly means noticing what is broken. Badges & Records exists to make sure you also notice what is working: every real, measured win your site achieves — a best week ever, a ten-week growth streak, your hundred-thousandth visitor — is recorded, dated, and celebrated. And because each badge is backed by a number Crafty Meerkat actually measured, you can share it publicly as a verified claim, not a boast.

Every badge is earned from real results — there are no participation stickers here. Records mark your Best Day, Best Week, and Best Month Ever. Growth streaks (“On a Roll”) come in bronze, silver, and gold for 3, 6, and 10 straight weeks of growth. Milestones celebrate visitors served (1,000 / 10,000 / 100,000), goals scored (10 / 100 / 1,000), and site anniversaries. Worldwide Reach recognizes visitors from 10, 25, and 50 countries. AI badges mark being Recommended by AI (10 / 100 / 1,000 AI-referred visits) and being AI-Ready. Health badges cover Always On uptime (shown in-app only) and Spotless Burrow — a site crawl that found nothing to fix.

Records and streaks have minimum-traffic floors, so tiny numbers can never mint silly claims — a “best week ever” badge means a week genuinely worth mentioning. Badge points add up to a site level named after meerkat mob roles: Burrow, then Scout, Sentry, Lookout, and Alpha. Levels are identity — a shorthand for how far your site has come. They gate nothing and unlock nothing.

How it works

Your badge wall lives on the site’s Analytics page, and new badges arrive by email if you want them to — each site has its own switch under Settings → Email alerts → “Badges & records.”

Any public-safe badge can become a share card: a one-click 1200×630 image stamped “Verified by Crafty Meerkat,” sized for social posts and link previews. Privacy is the default: cards make relative claims like “a new weekly record” and only include exact figures if you tick “Show exact numbers.”

You can also publish a wins page: an opt-in public page at /wins/<link> (enabled under Settings → Sharing) listing your badges with claims only — never raw numbers — plus an embeddable badge widget for your own site showing your level and verified win count.

Step by step

  1. 1

Find your badge wall on the Analytics page

Every badge your site has earned is there, dated, alongside the numbers that earned it. There is nothing to configure — earning starts automatically.

  2. 2

Choose whether to hear about new badges by email

Under Settings → Email alerts, switch “Badges & records” on or off per site. Agencies often keep it on for their own site and off for client sites.

  3. 3

    Share a win

Click any public badge to generate its share card — a 1200×630 image marked “Verified by Crafty Meerkat.” By default it makes a relative claim like “a new weekly record”; tick “Show exact numbers” only if you want the figures public.

  4. 4

    Publish your wins page (optional)

Under Settings → Sharing, opt in to a public page at /wins/<link> listing your badges with claims only — never raw numbers. Grab the embeddable widget there too, showing your site level and verified win count on your own site.

Tips from the den

  • Share cards make strong social proof precisely because they are conservative: “Verified by Crafty Meerkat” plus a relative claim reads more credible than a big raw number ever would.
  • The wins page is a quiet closer for service businesses — a prospect comparing two options can see one of them has a verified track record.
  • Chasing a streak is a surprisingly effective habit: “On a Roll” gold means ten straight weeks of growth, which no single lucky spike can fake.
  • Watch for Spotless Burrow after working through your crawl findings — a clean crawl is a real achievement, and the badge is the receipt.

Common questions

Can I hide a badge I don’t want public?

Nothing is public unless you make it so. The wins page is opt-in, and only public-safe badges ever appear on it — badges like uptime stay in-app only by design. Share cards are generated one at a time, only when you click, and show relative claims unless you explicitly tick “Show exact numbers.”

Are these badges real achievements, or does everyone get them?

Every badge is backed by a measured number and a date — a real record, streak, or milestone from your own analytics. Records and streaks also have minimum-traffic floors, so a quiet site cannot mint a “best week ever” from a handful of visits. If you have the badge, the number happened.

What do site levels actually do?

They are identity, not access. Badge points move your site from Burrow up through Scout, Sentry, and Lookout to Alpha, and the level appears on your badge widget — but no level gates any feature. Everything in your plan works the same on day one as it does at Alpha.
